Venice is unlike any other city, it is magical.
Venice is unlike any other city, it is magical. It gets very crowded during the day in the main tourist areas but it is always easy to dodge down an alley and get away from the crowds. Also, if you are staying in the city the evenings are much less crowded and it is even more romantic. Make sure you visit the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello, with the cathedral in Torcello being the highlight with amazing ancient mosaics. So much art, both classical and modern, superb museums, beautiful churches. Don’t worry about the cost of eating out, there are many restaurants to choose from and many have reasonably priced menus. Also pizza is cheap and delicious.

We went to Lido Beach instead of Murano Island. the nearest station to our apartment is Accademia . This route ( Lido to Accademia, B line 1 route) gave us a full tour of Venice from the Adriatic Sea to its port and in to the Grand Canal seeing the whole of Venice from the water , the day pass €25 /pp is all worth it .

Beautiful for a couple of days to see the main attractions. A very baautiful city which is let down by poor tourist information and for getting around by ferry which is essential. My advice- hop on a ferry and follow the tourists. Bought 48 hour ferry pass(€35 each ) which got plenty of use. Never used water taxi’s.

All sights were inundated with tourists to the point that it was almost impossible to take a photograph without people crossing in front of the camera. One restaurant's waiter told us that his tip could not be put on the credit card I paid with and he wanted cash??? I have never had a server ask for a tip, let alone an under the table tip. His service was odd and forgetful too.

Great boat trip to Murano, Burano and Torcello. Loved the Gondala ride although 90 Euros for 30 minutes is pricey. It’s busy in the streets, we met a couple who had been pick pocketed so be mindful. Venice is a beautiful city with a rich history, amazing sites to see, restaurants, affordable shopping and options for trips and tours. However, if you travel to Venice, make sure you do not have too many heavy bags. Depending on where you stay, you will have to walk a lot to get to your hotel. Since there is no public transportation in the city, you have to walk everywhere...... In addition, many hotels/apartments do not have elevators and thus Venice may be difficult to navigate for people with mobility issues.

The hotel is very modern which is exceptional for Venice and maybe for Italy, with great facilities and lovely comfort. My room was big and everything was working perfectly, the safety box, the TV and the lights. The Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I found the service excellent

The room was beautiful, spotless and spacious, and exactly like the pictures. The location is labour 100m from the Rialto bridge right in the centre of San Marco. Matteo was a fabulous host he helped us with our heavy luggage, had a complimentary mini bar and helped with all our questions about transfers to and from the airport, train station and bus station. The place is located 3 minutes away from the vaporetto without the need to cross any bridges (very comfortable if you have small kids in a stroller). Very spacious, bright rooms, two bathrooms. The host are connected to whatsapp and are very helpful providing your with tips how to eat well in Venice (anybody who has been there knows how extremely hard that is) and what to do not to get ripped off by tourist traps.
