An absolutely beautiful city. Very easy to walk around. The castle and grounds are majestic. Lots of interesting places. Do a lake tour as well as a city tour. If you are here on the weekend, you may need to reserve at a restaurant.

The apartment was in a very central area of the old town and just a short walk to the Schloss which was very interesting with beautiful gardens on the lake. Lieblingsnest apartment was very comfortable and well equipped but the bedroom was very cramped and had too little airflow. It really needed a ceiling fan. There were too many doors for such a small space.

Unexpectedly beautiful city. A lot of old and well kept houses, and a very extravagant castle. Unfortunately not all of the city is well kept, but the overall impression is good. There are several nice restaurants, and the Christmas market is very nice. The city also have a lot of shopping opportunities, including shopping centers. Beware that the shopping centers have very few elevators and toilet facilities.

A very pleasant and picturesque city in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with good rail services for exploring the remainder of the state. There is a good range of shops, restaurants and bars. Great city to relax a bit. The lake is nice and also the city and the castle were a super cool visit. Many shopping and restaurant options. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to detach a bit from the etic lifestyle of the city. Would stay between 1 and 3 days.

Very good location in central Schwerin with the palace and a supermarket down the road, and just a short walk from several attractions and restaurants - we even found a nice little nook to go swimming in the Schweriner See (away from the harbour and main waterfront areas) a few minutes walk down the street. We were coming from somewhere east of Schwerin but had to checkout there at 10, so we were 2 hours before the check-in window. This didn't prove to be a problem. The city was at walking distance. The facilities in the room were as expected, coffeemaker with filters present, cooker, toaster and a small 2 put stove. Everything was clean and there were towels, soap, also for the dishes.

Found this one last minute and it was a nice surprise - very good value for money, right on our route. the rooms were big and comfortable, bed was very nice and comfy. there was coffee and tea machine, everything was good in the room (apart from the smell in one of the 2 rooms we booked, perhaps someone smoked in it?)
