Very clean and comfortable hotel. Excellent food. The toiletries provided were a bonus.
We would like to introduce you to The Tempus at Charlton Hall Estate, a decadent place where colours collide, and imaginations are captured.

Stunning finish / Decor of hotel interior and exterior.
Staff and food were excellent.
We enjoyed live music in teepee tent.
An outstanding hotel in lovely countryside.
In the centre of Alnwick, this 300-year-old coaching inn is a short walk from Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Its restaurant’s decor was salvaged from the Titanic’s sister ship. Free parking is available....

Alnwick Castle - and Gardens - and both very impressive and the castles interiors are amazing. It is close to the wonderful Northumberland coast which, although it can be a little cold, on the fine days which we had were brilliant, especially around Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh Castles and up to Lindisfarne/Holy Island as well as the Farne Islands. There were major roadworks in the town centre of Alnwick when we visited but think these will complete in next few days. We did not visit Alnwick itself, just drove through.

Alnwick is a good place to visit and is an ideal base for exploring the area.
There are a number of good restaurants and cafes.
Alnwick Castle is worth a visit, but don’t bother with Alnwick Gardens as they are small and over priced.

This was our first visit to Alnwick and we've fallen in love! There were so many intriguing and characterful shops to explore and we were spoilt for choice for lovely places to eat. We would whole heartedly recommend eating a SherKhan - some of the best curry we've ever had - and also The Adam and Eve.
Dirty Bottles is a fab venue, great for a drink but would skip the very averge food next time.

Alnwick is the perfect place to base yourself when exploring the many castles , fishing towns and ancient relics of Britain found in Northumbria and the Borders
Alnwick itself caters for almost every sort of special
Interest with the castle itself and its gardens being the crown in the jewel .
Plenty of outdoor activities , historical places to visit , one of the countrys best bookshop and restaurants and pubs for all tastes .
One of the best towns in the UK by far .

The castle and gardens were closed but we have been in them before and so we were not disappointed. A walk along the river at the back of the castle is very nice and a good test of your waterproofs and footwear. Hulne park has good walks. Alnwick is a beautiful town. Berwick and Morpeth nearby, complement the area.

Alnwick is an excellent centre for visiting many locations...
Alnwick is an excellent centre for visiting many locations in Northumberland, with lots of scenic coastline and castles on your doorstep. There are plenty of excellent places to eat however if you are going to stay over a weekend I would recommend booking a table in advance as they all get very busy. If you want to book the treetop restaurant book months on advance to avoid disappointment. Alnwick castle and gardens are a must if you have never visited before.
Lovely hotel. We had a room on the second floor which was quite small but suited us as we only stayed for 2 nights. A great supply of coffee, tea, milk and biscuits which was a nice touch. The room was very clean. We didn't have breakfast, but actually ate in the hotel both evenings and the food was very good and plentiful. Good location for bars, restaurants etc. and also only half an hour to the coast. The castle and gardens are only round the corner and worth a visit. We would certainly stay here again when we visit Alnwick.
We had 3 nights in this lovely boutique hotel, we were upgraded to The Chapel, a beautiful, unusual suite which was very clean and comfortable, especially the huge bath! Great location near the Castle, but quiet, great choice of breakfast and the bistro was lovely for evening meal, beautiful food and dining room. The staff were exceptional, particularly the lovely lady who served us breakfast and supplied us with a great pack up for our walk. Would highly recommend.
We loved our stay here! It was fun being above the Dirty Bottles restaurant and we loved the proximity to Alnwick Castle as well as the center of town. And our room was incredible! The subtle Harry Potter decor touches were so fun, and the room was spacious and well-equipped. The included breakfast with menu options was also above and beyond what you'd normally expect with a complimentary breakfast. We wish we could have stayed longer!
The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was comfortable, spotlessly clean and thoughtfully done with extras such as dressing gowns and all bathroom toiletries.
Location perfect for the town and the castle so car not required unless wanting to go further out.
Lovely cooked breakfasts although a full choice offered if cereals etc are preferred
Would highly recommend
The hosts Jane and Arthur were really friendly. the property is ideally situated for visiting various locations in Northumberland and a few minutes walk to Alnwick town centre and castle which is well worth a visit. breakfast was really good. there was attention to guests needs throughout the property.
Hotel staff were really helpful and facilitated an early check in when I arrived a bit earlier than planned. Room was a tad small but very comfy and clean. You can tell they take a lot of pride in the rooms. Good location also, only a 1/2 min walk from the centre of Alnwick
Room was outstanding, much bigger and interesting than expected. Room had real personality. Good choices for breakfast and dinner. Food was excellent. Nice selection of lagers and ales. Hotel and pub have a lot of history, adding to the overall experience. Nice town.
Location was excellent. Easy walking distance to Alnwick Castle and Garden, restaurants and grocery stores. Very clean and comfortable. Parking was easy. We had a toddler and a high chair was present, as well as a TV with Netflix for children.
friendly staff, very nice rooms (loved the colour of the walls and the "medieval style" poster of Northumberland) with view of the castle, and great location as at just short walking distance from every main attraction of the city
Very central to the town of Alnwick, and only 5 mins walk to the Castle and Garden. Large, comfortable beds. Clean and tidy interior. Easy to collect and drop off keys to hotel reception. Easy parking in the hotel car park.
An excellent location for exploring Alnwick and surrounding area. Close to Barter Books. It was very quiet and we had a front room on the street. The beds were comfortable. The owner is quick to respond when contacted.
The room was extremely comfortable & had everything we needed. The location was really good for the town, Alnwick Castle & Gardens + Barters Bookshop. Parking was just across the street in the hotel carpark.
Proximity to Alnwick castle and gardens.
Not having to use the car once parked at the hotel.
Historical links with the ship “Olympic” and the beautiful dining room which came from that vessel.
Good breakfast
Very traditional B&B rooms lovely and very comfy beds, we loved it. Breakfast was excellent and location was great. We were made very welcome and would definitely recommend and stay again if in Alnwick area
