Really nice. We booked a suite which was Ideal for our family with separate twin room for the children and large modern stylish bathroom. It's the second time we have stayed in the same suite and would really recommend it.
We had a really good time there and would definitely use again if we are travelling to the area.

Excellent modern and brightly designed flat, really comfortable and welcoming with lovely attention to detail. Brilliant location for both Kendal train station and bus station. Right by the beautiful and dreamy River Kent and just a 10 minute walk from Kendal centre with all the shops and restaurants.
Has a shop directly underneath (Premier) and a Lidl behind which is just over 5 minutes away. Also there is a Indian restaurant, off licence and fish and chip shop right on the doorstep. Despite being so close to everything and on a main arterial road, the flat is made quiet and peaceful due to the double glazed sash window. The rooms are big and spacious and while you are inside you feel away from it all and yet down a few stairs and round the back entrance and you are right there in Kendal. What could be better? We didn't want to leave we were so well catered for!
Also having a stand alone fan was a great touch as the weather was warm and humid during our stay.

Kendal is sometimes an overlooked gem of a town, with many interesting places to visit with historic interest & a hive of culture.
We especially enjoyed the ease of getting to the Brewery Arts Centre for a concert & all on offer there.
Being into 'real ale', the Factory, was a valuable find, near to the river. (Nice pizza on a Friday evening too!) A haven for dog owners!
We visited the Art Gallery, had coffee/tea there & were spoiled for choice at the cakes for sale. Friendly staff there & an very interesting selection of modern art, photography & traditional art.
Recommend a walk up to the castle for a wonderful vista of the area.
Great connections by bus to the southern lakes & western lake district too.

The town of Kendal is great and this flat is well located to access the town centre etc.
I was disappointed with my accommodation as a very poorly equipped kitchen, poor water pressure in kitchen sink, tacky decor and bizarre unintelligible smart door handles.

Kendal has lots to offer visitors and is an ideal place to stay, away from the crowds in the central Lakes. Lots of walking accessible by good public transport, avoids taking the car and trying to find somewhere to park. Plenty of shops and places to eat, especially Corner 124 where you can enjoy an excellent meal.
Breakfast was really nice and locally sourced. We especially liked the fresh fruit and the bacon. The young lady on breakfast duty was exceptionally efficient, friendly and a total pleasure to speak to. A valuable asset to the hotel.
Beds were comfortable and clean
Room was tidy, clean and had everything we needed.
Tea/coffee and biscuit available in room was very nice and as a bonus a small fridge with fresh milk in it.
Excellent location, right in the heart of Kendal.
My sister and I enjoyed a couple of days here whilst in the area. We found it to be very clean, comfortable, our twin room was spacious and had everything we needed. Large car park, well located and five minutes from the town. The hotel was very pleasant, quiet and relaxing. The staff were absolutely lovely, very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend if you are visiting Kendal.
The location of property, it’s very near to Kendal town Center and easy access to all locations. The size of the property is also good for a family holiday with 2 kids. No parking at the property but there is a public car park within 50 meters, early bird offer before 7 am for £1 ( no issues). The WI-FI at property was super fast and excellent, it didn’t drop a single time for the entire trip for whole week.
Location is good for central Kendal .A mere 5 minute walk on to the high Street. Our room at "The Riverside "was really nice.Quite large and a view of the river which was nice and relaxing. We opted not to have breakfast as we were meeting with friends staying elsewhere in Kendal and decided to go to a cafe ,rather than have breakfast at the hotel. Also good parking at the hotel.
Fairly basic, but clean and tidy. Liked that the single beds were in a separate area in the room so our child was separate from us enough for us to not disturb him after he went to bed.
No noise from other rooms, walls are quite thick. Lovely view. Only interaction with staff was a quick check in. All very smooth, and pleasant. I'd use this hotel again.
The property was a perfect weekend haven in a fantastic location for Kendal and the surrounding areas. It was spotless and the facilities were outstanding. The host had really thought about the lay out and the use of the space. The host went above expectations with communications and even posted something we had left behind.
Great Snug for 2 adults and 2 kids. Views lovely. Very friendly pub. Ace playground. Quiet evenings despite busy pub. Very friendly owner & bar/cleaning staff who made us all including the kids feel welcome. 15ish mins to Bowness by easy main roads, 2 mins to Kendal centre, 7 mins to Levens Hall and Lakeland Maze Farm.
A last minute booking as an overnight to break up a long journey to attend a business meeting .
This hotel did not disappoint.
My only fault being that we could unfortunately not spend longer in it .
A gem of a find and one that we will undoubtably return to and recommend to others .
Many thanks .
The home was clean and spacious and in a beautiful location, perfect for walks with the dogs and to travel around the lake district. The living area was a great size for 6 people and we felt completely at home for the weekend we were there. The house had everything that we needed for our stay.
the owner at glenholme was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, the little exra touches in the room wer lovely, and the facilties were better than a lot of hotels we had stayd at, the property is just a short walk from Kendal and the town itself has lots to offer
‘Home from Home’
Better than staying in a hotel which I have done many times visiting Kendal / The Lakes.
Would stay again subject to availability etc.
Bathroom was clean and nice walk in shower .
Kitchen had everything we needed for our stay.
Great hosts in a great location, Kendal has its charms and so close to the lakes. The lodge has everything you need and a great handbook too. Well worth the price, will definitely be returning when we revisit the area.
A lovely friendly welcome. A great location - only a short, scenic walk to the centre of Kendal. The property was clean, well kept and had everything we need. We would definitely stay here again.
Modern facilities, very clean and good location in Kendal/easy travel to Windermere. Dog friendly which is perfect for the area and has a small outdoor some which our dog enjoyed.
