Spacious room, very clean. Had a small balcony which was great to have open for fresh air. Easy, secure, underground parking. Great location, short walk to restaurants and bars of Braddon. A popular quiz question is: what’s the capital of Australia? If you answered Sydney or Melbourne then it’s time to discover the real answer – Canberra. With Parliament House at its core, Canberra fans out across both sides of Lake Burley Griffin to reveal a diverse mix of museums, restaurants and bars filled with curious tourists, political persons and public servants.
Canberra was created as a solution to Australia’s 2 largest cities squabbling over the right to become the national capital. The Limestone Plains region in New South Wales was chosen as the site for present day Canberra. It was a good choice for nature lovers as it is surrounded by bushland, mountain ranges and, more recently, wineries.
The National Gallery, National Museum and National Library of Australia highlight Canberra’s cultural riches. Other notable institutions to visit are the High Court of Australia and the National Film and Sound Archive that stockpiles a collection of Australia’s early radio, television and film history.
The military also plays a significant role here with many training facilities for the army such as the Australian Defence Force Academy. An unforgettable experience is attending the Anzac Day Dawn service at The Australian War Memorial.
Australia’s cultural capital with a political punch has many hotels, motels and apartments on Booking.com for that city trip, business jaunt or family holiday.
Love Canberra. Used to live in Canberra and now retired to the country. Still visit Canberra regularly due to family still living there. Lot of people give Canberra lots of negativity, but the city is beautiful and a great place to visit.

I would say if a coloured map of Canberra could be available to people, A Map will full details including sites to see eg Resturants, parliament house, mountain drives, tours. I did find a map but the lettering was too small to read and insufficient information. The Name of the Apartments could be clearly shown.

School holiday trip with the grandsons.
School holiday trip with the grandsons. They loved the dinosaur museum and miniature village.
So many places to visit, we needed more time.
The work going on around the War Memorial made it a bit difficult to look around the grounds and parking was limited as it was the week before Anzac Day and many areas closed off. We decided to give it a miss.

Paying for bus tickets was pain as no cash is taken - drivers are very generous letting us travel free but I dislike not paying my dues . Cash will be useable sometimes during 2024. From City Walk we walked to War Memorial - spent all day there. Poppy Cafe is good. Tickets free but book a slot on time. Slot is 2 hours but if u need more just ask one of the many room guides if they can extend your ticket. Grab a free tour of highlights when u arrive. Takes almost your 2 hours but guide will fix an extension. For seriously interested visitors (like us) they offered to give us all day. Also there is a separate Last Post ceremony every day. Needs separate ticket. Best view point is on 'balcony' overlooking Eternal Flame or in the open air (at balcony level) furthest away from Eternal Flame. It,s all free so buy a 5 AUD guide book or make a donation. As for Parliament visit (both places have airport style security checks) that also is deffo worth time. the Museum of Australia was different and interesting - several good cinema type films to watch. Visitor Centre in Commonwealth Park is a good first stop. Lovely lakeside walks decent cafe and very interesting story of how Canberra was built from scratch. Helpful staff and free leaflets. We could have filled 5 days rather than 3.

We were disappointed. We went there for a weekend.
We were disappointed. We went there for a weekend. There was no hop on hop off buses in the weekend, why not? It should be a lof of tourist in the weekend. We bought My way tickets instead, but the buses in Canberra have such small writing on the screen that says next stop that we couldn read it, and the volume was so low that we couldnt hear it in any of the buses (and we are NOT hard of hearing!). On top of that, the bus to the railway station didn,t go to the station. There was no message that said that, and no exception on the description of the stops. We went too far and realized it. Locals that helped us to find the way told us this happend all the time. If that is so, why don,t you fix the information?

for a capital of a country it is very small, very quiet and strangely clean and planned, not organically grown at all
pleasant to walk around, feels really safe, lots of museums and galleries
lots of birds and even a kangaroo hopped across the road at night
We booked two apartments for a family wedding and the staff generously upgraded one of our rooms to be a high rise apartment with a great view, and directly opposite the 2nd large apartment. The rooms were excellent and the staff very friendly and very helpful. Location (near Lonsdale St) and parking were excellent. The below ground parking was generous and easy to access. We will definitely return for a foodie weekend / week and general Canberra holiday. Thank you Pacific Suites !
I really like this hotel, quite even it is in the city center. It's close to canberra center (mall) and lot of restaurants around and bar. Walkable to Alinga tram station, CMAG and other tourist spot can be visited by bus, there's bus station in front of this hotel. The room is so clean, and the mini kitchen is equipped with things you need to cook if you're on a budget. Also, we came so early around 11am and they let us checked in without additional cost. Thank you!
Instructions provided made it extremely easy to navigate. As a young family with an infant, we were pleasantly surprised the unit was comfortable for three. Spacious shower area made it easy to fit a portable mini tub for an infant that we brought. Another bonus for us was the flat access allowing baby pram access right to the door. Not all apartments would offer towels, soap/shampoos so this was yet an other nice touch. Quiet. Would stay again when next in Canberra.
I was VERY close to the bus stop from and to the airport.
I was close to shops (to buy food) and the War Memorial & Lake Burley Griffin (the reasons for my visit to Canberra).
The room had everything I needed, including coffee and extra toiletries. Also the heating made it extremely comfortable on the cold nights.
I could leave my case safely at the hotel before and after check-in & check-out times.
The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful.
It's a pretty standard Best Western Hotel/Motel type of place - great for somewhere to sleep and refresh, but not a place that's particularly memorable. It served my purposes well, and was the cheapest property in Canberra for the night I needed a place to stay which is the main reason I booked. Location is suitable for those with their own transport and ideal if you're coming up from the south. Close to Manuka and the Parliamentary triangle too.
We always choose the Kurrajong when in Canberra, as it's a known quantity for us and location is convenient, being walking distance to the art galleries, Old Parliament House etc. It has a more personal feel than some other larger hotels, and we've found the staff invariably friendly and helpful. There are dedicated electric car destination chargers outside the entrance, and we hope to make use of those next time we visit!
The room was fantastic. We arrived at the door to find the cutest sausage dog mat - that indicated it was indeed a very pet friendly hotel. Then when we went inside, there was a plush dog bed & water bowl. What a welcome. The hotel was very centrally located in the CBD area of Canberra - very handy for restaurants/cafes etc. There is also a fab little cafe right next to/part of the hotel - great coffee & croissants.
3 bedroom apartment suitable for our needs. Family of 3 adults, 2 children and 1 infant. Location excellent with lots of good eating places and shops within walking distance. Also easy walk to lake & parliamentary circle attractions.
Appreciative that the bed configuration was set-up as per request, and non-standard.
TVs in 2 of the bedrooms appreciated although they were cheap and the sound very poor.
The hotel was only a short drive from attractions such as the National Art Gallery and Bus Depot Markets. The room was clean and spacious, including a safe in the wardrobe, and the bed was comfortable. A very good breakfast (included in our booking) which made the stay value for money. We enjoyed a hearty meal at the German Club which is conveniently next to the hotel. Off street parking was also included.
The location of the property is excellent, opposite Manuka Oval, approx. 300 mts to shops, cafes, hotel & restaurants.
Staff were welcoming and friendly, and they could not do enough to make our stay more comfortable.
I would highly recommend the apartments to anyone visiting Canberra.
I absolutely loved this hotel. The staff are very professional and friendly, and the decor of the hotel is incredible! The room we stayed in was beautiful, bathroom was amazing and the bed was a dream to sleep in. Great location to the main part of Canberra as well.
Beautiful, historic hotel but still with modern features and comforts. Beautiful lobby with cold, complimentary, flavoured water. Licensed restraunt and bar. Comfortable beds, large rooms, modern bathrooms. Friendly staff. Auto call taxi button at reception.
Staffs are really thoughtful, I am new here to Australia, and the staffs helped me a lot. Room has an warm atmosphere, gave me a excellent experience after my landing in Canberra. The location of the hotel is extraordinary, quite a safe and quiet block.
I think I got a good rate on this property. It was an efficient, comfortable and well equipped hotel and rooms in great location. Not sure I would pay the rack rate but will certainly book again if any deals. Height recommend.
Reception staff were very helpful throughout my visit. The room was very nice. Room service meals were also very good. The location of the hotel was very good for me to explore Canberra on foot.
The room was big and comfortable, a lot of wear and tear in the bathroom, Breakfast was nice but same as you would get in a cheaper hotel. The best thing about the hotel was the staff.
I like how the hotel was close proximity of all the things we wanted to visit in Canberra.
Staff were friendly and the hotel great value for money during our stay.
The location of Village Hostels was good, right off London Circuit. So it was easy to get up each morning and head out around Canberra and get out to other areas.
