We used the restaurant on the first night. The food was excellent. We had breakfast both mornings. You could not fault it. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome. The rooms were excellent.

Lots of things to love about this:
Beautiful quiet location
Very well fitted and presented huts - we were so surprised at how much was in it.
Really comfortable bed
Exceptionally clean toilet and shower room
Lovely little welcome pack of biscuits and milk and coffee pods
We loved that dogs were welcome and at no extra cost - thank you!
Shower was lovely and hot and good pressure
Owner was so helpful - we booked last minute as tired (been on road for long time) and he kindly booked us in at pub for dinner.

It’s looking tired but it’s the gateway to lots of other places. Plymouth is within reach maybe 40mins by car. The prison has the attraction of the museum with guided tours which are great fun The prison, now hotel is absolutely wonderful. Great gala night for new year with the best food ever. The Bodmin folk are so friendly and will advise on where to eat to suit your budget. The Eden project is a great trip to make even on a rainy day. Was visiting a sick relative in the hospital & hotel very convenient for that. Have always been in transit elsewhere so didn't know the town well. So attractive and clean. Very friendly people who readily helped direct or help in other ways. I have relatives who came from Probus and Devonshire so visited both counties from 1946 onwards and think changes by and large sensitive and well carried out. The beauty of the county and rural nature has been largely preserved and if controlled population increase measures are sympathetically controlled, the character of the county ought to be preserved along with its beauty.

A great experience, the renovation work is amazing throughout the hotel! We only stayed there for 1 night but we would have liked to have spend more time. Bodmin was a really good distance from all the places I wanted to visit and I knew there was road works (till 2024) on the road further south and didn’t want to be stuck on the road whilst on a long drive anyway .

We went to the Eden Project for half a day and enjoyed the biodomes. We spent a day at Lanhydrock House, looking around the house and we walked miles around the estate. We also hired bikes through Saint Piran Cafe (and bike hire shop), the staff were excellent and we loved the 18 mile round trip on the bikes, followed by a drink in the cafe afterwards. We also enjoyed a pizza from Dominos in Bodmin and the best fish and chips from Welcome Stranger in Lanivet, near Bodmin, we would absolutely recommend this place for a fantastic meal!

Located near Bodmin just off the A30 dual carriageway gives access to both north and south cornwall coastlines and plenty of places to visit in between. As the hotel is situated alongside a motorway services there is plenty of parking and banks of chargers for drivers with EVs. The motorway services next door offer a costa, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Subway and a co op. And of course a 24 hour filling station.AlanUnited Kingdom

All the staff were absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond to make me and my partner comfortable. The rooms are exceptional; super comfy, very spacious and as we booked the family room our bathroom was another level! Even underfloor heating and a lovely deep Roman bath. WE were told that the bar terrace overlooked the lake but the busehes in form tof the terrace had grown so high you could not see the lake. Arrival reception could have been a little more friendly and helpful and some outside areas aroudn the bar looked a bit scruffy but the lodge was perfect and exceeded expectations.
